Arezzo cuisine belongs to traditional Tuscan recipes, and it is based on roast, barbecued and grilled meat.
Among the most renowned recipes: 'pappardelle alla lepre' (wide pasta strips with hare sauce), 'gnocchi del Casentino' ('Casentino style' gnocchi with ricotta cheese and spinach), “Zuppa di Pollo” (thick chicken soup), lamb, duck, 'anguilla all’aretina' ('Arezzo style' eel), grilled chicken, fried celery, stuffed artichokes and 'schiacciate' (flat bread).
The worldwide famous wine is Chianti, either red or white.
