PIAZZA GRANDE
Suggestive historical square of Arezzo, where the 'Giostra del Saracino' (Saracen tournament) is held, and adorned by the Palazzo del Tribunale (the old Law courts) and Palazzo della Fraternità dei Laici (Lay Confraternity palace).
PALAZZO LAPPOLI Piazza Grande
A fourteenth-century palace built next to a tower from the previous century, property of the Lappoli family. In the twentieth century, the palace underwent restoration and the tower was levelled down to the height of the main building.
PALAZZO DELLE LOGGE Piazza Grande
Built in 1537 on a design by Vasari.
ROMAN AMPHITHEATRE Via Margheritine e Via F. Crispi
Built during the first century in sandstone and marble with an elliptical shape.
BURIANO BRIDGE
Monalisa's bridge. Approximately 9 kilometres from Arezzo, towards Valdarno, along the Setteponti provincial road, you come across the Arno river and the Romanesque Ponte Buriano, built in the thirteenth century. Experts think Leonardo da Vinci was inspired by this very bridge when painting the background of his famous portrait of Monalisa.
